Hi, I’m Catherine!
I’m a self-taught modern calligrapher and digital artist based in Toronto, Canada. Growing up, I have always loved creating art and was drawn to modern calligraphy when planning my wedding in 2018. I enjoy pointed pen calligraphy and brush lettering, and have recently become passionate about digital illustrations.
I'm a big plant lover at heart. Plants make me so happy - I love taking care of them and seeing them bloom! I’m also deeply passionate about the environment and finding ways to enjoy life in an eco-friendly way. Our life on this planet is so fragile, so I'm conscious about my impact on the environment.
A seed was planted when thinking of how to explore my artistic skills and love for the environment. Put these two together, and… PENGRAM STUDIO was born!
Designing the plantable greeting cards and sharing my art with others brings me joy. The seed paper is made in Canada and is zero-waste -- creating art that is eco-friendly and kind to the environment is very important to me. I hope you and your loved ones enjoy seeing your plantable cards come to life and grow into beautiful wildflowers.
When I’m not at the studio, I love running, going on hikes and immersing myself in nature with my husband Daniel and our rescue pup Zorro.

PENGRAM, what’s in the name?
PEN -- Has dual meaning, since who doesn't like a good pun?
First, it stands for PENguin, my husband's favourite animal, which quickly become my favourite animal.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Second, PEN. Yeah, good old fashioned pen, representing one of the main tools I use for calligraphy and digital art (technically, Apple pencil).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
